Microsurgery Training Course

INTRODUCTION


Yu-Chuan Pan, M.D., Microsurgery Course Director, has worked in microsurgery labs in John's Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, MD), Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN), Lahey Clinic (Boston, MA) and Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX), as well as M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (Houston,TX). Also he has taught microsurgery courses for more than 15 years for some 1500 surgeons for all surgical specialties and in more than 20 countries. Most of the course participants reach more than 90% patient rate for vassel anastomosis.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course includes the following procedures:
1. the use of the operating microscope, surgical loupes (4X, 6X) and microsurgical instruments
2. Basic suturing techniques and microsurgical dissection
3. Artery anastomosis
4. Vein anastomosis
5. Interposition vein graft
6. end to side anastomosis
7. Nerve graft and nerve anastomosis
8. Free flap
9. Vasovasostomy (urology)
10. Fallopian tube anastomosis (OB & Gyn)

26 HOURS BASIC MICROSURGERY COURSE

40 HOURS MICROSURGERY COURSE

COURSE AMENITIES

*Upon completion of the course, a microsurgery course certificate will be awarded
*Each student will receive a silastic sheet for suturing practice and a special instruction information for home or office practice to maintain and improve your microsurgical techniques after the course

CONFIRMATION, CANCELLATION AND REFUND INFORMATION

The Microsurgery Training Course will be given year-round from Monday through Friday, with appointment. Two to three weeks advance registration is required.
